Privacy policy

BabelBalls is a trade name of TDY.ai, LLC. This page explains what we collect when you shop, make an account or visit the site, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• When you order: your email address, your name, your shipping address, what you bought and what you paid. You type these on Stripe's checkout page. Stripe also asks for a billing address, which Stripe keeps.
• When you make an account: your email address, an optional name, and your password, which we keep only in a scrambled form that cannot be read back.
• When you ask us to hold an order or write when checkout opens: your email address and, if you held an order, the cart.
• When you visit: our web servers keep ordinary access logs, which include your internet address and the pages your browser asks for. Visit statistics are described below.

Payment

Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number, expiry and security code go to Stripe and never reach us. Stripe also works out sales tax for us from your address.

How we protect it

Email addresses, names and shipping addresses are encrypted in our database. Our website and its data are hosted on Microsoft Azure.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the people who need it to fill your order:

• Stripe, to take payment and work out tax.
• Microsoft, whose email service sends our order and account emails.
• The carrier that delivers your order, which needs your name and address.

We may also share information when the law requires it.

Visit statistics

We count visits with Matomo, which we run ourselves, so the numbers stay with us. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It sees which pages are opened, which products are viewed and added to the cart, the totals and order number of an order, the page you came from (without its query string), and your browser's usual details such as its type and language, but never your name, email address or address. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, it does not count you at all. Like any server, it sees your internet address when your browser connects to it.

Cookies and your browser's storage

When you sign in to an account, we set a cookie that keeps you signed in, and a second cookie that lets us recognize your device on later sign-ins. We use no cookies for advertising. Your cart and the characters you have met are kept in your browser's storage on your own device. If you have an account, the characters you have met are saved to it too.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting and tax. When you delete your account, the order records stay. They are no longer connected to the account, but they are still tied to the email address on the order.

Your choices

On your account page you can download your account details, your saved collection and your orders, and delete the account. For anything else, write to hello@babelballs.com, and we will help.

Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your information, such as the right to ask what we hold, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. Write to us and we will answer.

Children

BabelBalls is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this page, the date at the bottom changes with it.
